FAT LAVA Live

On Saturday May 18, 2019 from 8p-midnight join Louisville band FAT LAVA at Brink Brewing in College Hill for a night of free music and great beer. In addition to its original music described as “versatile psych-rock, (with) layered, soul-infused, groove-fueled songs” FAT LAVA will also perform music by David Bowie, Gnarls Barkley, Sam & Dave, Talking Heads and more.

FAT LAVA recently released a 4 song EP available on Spotify, Amazon, iTunes, Tidal, and most other music services. “This quick, 18-minute EP has certain jam band sensibilities, but how rapidly it moves around, without ever going off the rails, is what’s striking.” (LEO Weekly)

An additional song was featured on the Louisville for Lovers Vol 14 available on bandcamp and select stores.

Brink for a Cause : JDRF

We will be donating $1 from every pint sold on May 21st to support the fundraising efforts of Jonas's Wolfpack and Sarah's Squad. Both teams are fundraising for the Kings Island JDRF Walk on June 1st. These teams are walking to help JDRF create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D) for the millions of children and adults living with this disease.

With T1D, a person’s pancreas stops producing insulin—a hormone essential to turning food into energy. If you have T1D, you must constantly monitor your blood-sugar level, inject or infuse insulin through a pump, and carefully balance these insulin doses with your eating and activity.

Living with T1D means there are no days off and there is no cure. But there is hope.

To donate directly outside of the Brink for a Cause Event:

Brink For A Cause : Michael Plaskowicki's Recovery

This is a family-friendly event packed with things to do for everyone including live music, great food, auctions for cool gifts, prize giveaways, and of course the award-winning Brink beer!

On March 17, 2018, Michael suffered a tragic car accident in Cincinnati OH. He was diagnosed with a series of life-threatening injuries including significant brain trauma which left him comatose and fighting for his life. Michael was airlifted to UC hospital, and given little chance for survival or recovery. After two months in this critical state, he awoke from his coma. This led to a series of battles in rehabilitation centers. After six months of rehab in the US, his family made the decision to transfer him to a specialized rehab center in his native Poland – and progress has been impressive!

Please help our friend to return to his role as an enthusiastic father and strong, loving husband.

On behalf of his wife Gosia, we seek your support in achieving this goal. The clinic in Poland has provided incredible services and this type of progress was unthinkable just months ago, but the cost is high. The 8 hours of daily treatment and related expenses run about $10,000 per month.

If you can help in any way – financial support, forwarding the event invite to your friends, or joining us for a few beers and a good time at our charity event, it will be much appreciated! A portion of the brewery proceeds will directly benefit the family.

You can track Michael's recovery progress as well as donate via the Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/donate/299209370743437/

or the link below if you would like to make a larger donation or require a tax deduction. This donation will be routed through the Polish American Society of Greater Cincinnati, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, EIN 31-1361761.

You will be also able to donate at the event.

Thank you so much! – The Cincinnati family and friends of Michael Plaskowicki

Kelly's Candy B.A. Barleywine Bottle Release

Bottle Release!!

Kelly’s Candy is a traditional English-style Barley Wine Ale aged in Bourbon Barrels. For this ale we used an extra long boil to bring out extra carmelization of the robust malt bill featuring Marris Otter. English hops and yeast were used and then it spent 9 months slumbering in the barrel. A Perfect companion for nights around the fireplace or a campfire and pairs best with rich desserts or strong cheeses. We call this beer Kelly's Candy because it's just like candy to our co-founder & Head Brewer, Kelly Montgomery.

$12 / bottle

(limit 4 per person, 200 bottles total, 50 full allotments)
